I have always been fascinated with canyons including the one that is close to where my family lived in the Algoma District of Northeastern Ontario. The Agawa Canyon, containing four waterfalls that feed the Agawa River, is relatively close to the community of Chapleau, Ontario. Additional artwork in this series is currently in progress.
The artwork, in this series, was included in my most recent exhibition, titled ‘Parallel Perceptions’, at Propeller Art Gallery. The concept of each work includes impressions of the ecology of geographical areas in North and Central America, Europe and Asia. The process hints of spontaneity and randomness involving multiple layers of various materials and techniques, computer technologies, and applications of surfaces that capture elements of light.
